2/5. We could say that in the polytechnic vision of design: a designer is basically a superhero who is going to save the world

Design

let the fire light up, maybe have a cup of tea and then we can start telling some stories

This is a portfolio of someone who could be called a designer, here you will find the story of various projects, but what kind of projects?

The restyling or the design of the aesthetics of a product?

Well, certainly these wide-spread stereotypes are also part of design; but they are by any means its totality and they won't be what we'll talk about here, in fact we might actually start by wondering what is design?

Design

scenario
analysis

The whole process starts with an analysis of the scenario in which one is going to work

For very large projects, it is possible to freely explore an entire sector, trying to understand what is the best aspect to focus on in order to make improvements that are perhaps already expected or to develop unexpressed potential.

When we are dealing with a client's request, the initial analysis will allow us to understand his, and his clients', real needs. In any case, the focal point will be the needs of the end users.

Each project develops in a different way depending on what will be the outputs to be achieved, but still will start from the basics of the scenario;

along the way there will be test phases (technical and with the users or the clients) and based on the feedback the path will be adapted.

Communication
and storytelling

At the end of the previous chapter, the examples were all related to the field of Graphic Design and Visual Communication, and it is in this area that many of the various stories on this site take place.

In general, dealing with projects related to the territory, sustainability, services for people are interesting areas to work in; for these, as for others, cases at the end all leads to the design and realization of the experience that the user will live. From the presentation of something, to guiding the user along a path of discovery, or immersing him in a world to explore.

Web design
and versatility

After such a wide-ranging discourse in which we talked about design methodology (without the desire to write a treatise), the phases behind this work, about how there are many sectors and how wide the scope of design can be, it is certainly not easy to draw any conclusions. However, we are not talking about conclusions, but about a vision of the current state of things.

Within a project every support is important, interesting to design and implement, and has a different irreplaceable role. Nothing can be like: leafing through a book, lingering on the details of a high quality printed photo, watching a long documentary, viral like a social campaign, interactive like a game, immersive like augmented and virtual reality; but there is a sector in which pieces of all this can be combined: web design.

Communicating and creating immersive experiences without the limitation of any platform, through the most easy-to-access system there is and being able to fit every single medium within a single virtual space.

The cup of tea will be finished, the fire will light the way;
